Here are some articles worth reading, from the York Region website.

Double Digit Water Rate Increases to Come

Newmarket Water Rates are Up

$84 Water Rate Increase

With all of these increases to the cost or this precious resource of water, why are we not looking for alternatives?

We welcome you input. Please contact us on your opinions. Opening a healthy dialogue on the topic, and about water conservation in general, is the first step toward positive change.

You may have noticed some major changes in the direction on this website. There are more changes to come.
2010 was a huge year for the TRC Series. Over 500 SOLO units were deployed via our largest distributor in the region, The Windfall Ecology Center. We at Nedco Products are truly appreciative of Windfall’s business and its mission in supporting EcoManagement initiatives and education.
Completing the final orders in June 2010, Nedco Products began a course of change. This change is looking to turn the company in a new direction - one of education, social networking, raising common awareness, and unified action. Empowerment not by one, but by the network of many, for all.
This change will no doubt transform The Rain Collector and align it with this new direction. It is, after all, not the product but the process. This process was infused into The Rain Collector, and will emerge into the forefront as the next “product”.
Ambitious? Sure. Unknown? Perhaps at this point. Exciting? You bet!
Please stay with us to see how this unfolds. In fact, we invite you to participate already. Let us know what you think of what you read on this site. Let us know your goals for EcoManagement. Let’s build the community.

Great news! Now there is even more reason and benefit to purchasing any of the TRC Series of products for your home. Any TRC SOLO, TRC TWIN, and TRC TRIO purchase is eligible to be claimed towards the Home Renovation Tax Credit in Canada for 2009.
You can even claim the installation services.
The products and services qualify under the following criteria:

an alteration to homes or properties that are enduring in nature.
is an integral part of your home or property, by nature of the permanent attachment to the downspout.
is considered an irrigation system

The Rain Collector completely qualifies for this tax credit by the very definition of “an integral part or your home”. No open-top barrel system, can make this claim since there is no direct permanent attachment to the house. However, The Rain Collector does attach permanently by means of its diverter system in the downspout. This makes the system an integral water harvesting and supply system for the home.

To claim, it is easy. Just save up your receipts and claim an amount on your 2009 Income Tax return. For more information please visit the CRA website Fact Sheet at:

http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/nwsrm/fctshts/2009/m07/fs090713-eng.html
